Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor for key client schools, providing expert guidance on budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and long-term financial planning.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with school leaders and governing boards while driving client satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, and exceptional client service.
  • Oversee regional financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, and service delivery standards.
  • Manage complex client issues, oversee onboarding for new partners, and ensure timely resolution of high-priority financial matters.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts and participating in prospective client engagements.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of New Mexico public school finance, funding, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a New Mexico Public Education Department School Business Official (SBO) license.
  • Demonstrated success serving as a strategic financial advisor and building strong relationships with executive leaders, school administrators, and governing boards.
  • Proven leadership experience managing client-facing finance teams and delivering high-quality financial services in a collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, problem-solving, and client relationship management skills.
