Senior Director, Field Medical

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Field Medical, to lead and scale our Field Medical organization as we advance lanifibranor, our investigational drug for MASH, towards commercialization. This role will play a critical leadership position within Medical Affairs, driving scientific engagement, launch readiness, and high-value external partnerships. The ideal candidate brings deep Medical Affairs experience, strong people leadership, and a proven ability to operate in a fast-paced biotech environment at a pivotal stage of growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, build-out, and execution of the Field Medical/MSL function to support late-stage development and launch.
• Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing MSL organization; define coverage models, goals, and performance metrics.
• Drive high-quality, compliant scientific exchange with key opinion leaders, investigators, and academic stakeholders.
• Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access teams to ensure alignment and launch readiness.
• Translate field insights into actionable recommendations to inform medical strategy, evidence generation, and lifecycle planning.
• Oversee medical education, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and congress activities.
• Ensure all field medical activities comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry codes.

Requirements

• Advanced degree required (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent).
• 10+ years of Medical Affairs experience in biotech or pharma.
• Proven leadership experience managing Field Medical/MSL teams.
• Direct experience supporting Phase 3 development and/or product launch.
• Strong scientific credibility, communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a pre-commercial or high-growth biotech environment.
• Launch experience for a novel or specialty product.
• Background in MASH/NASH or highly scientific therapeutic areas.

Travel

Approximately 50%, including scientific meetings, advisory boards, and internal meetings.
