Overview

Verizon is transforming its product and revenue organization to drive sustainable business growth and long-term customer value. The CXO Experience Assurance: UAT & Quality Innovation function is established to ensure flawless, resilient software is built the first time, protecting customer retention and commercial revenue.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Govern the Unified 'Definition of Ready' Framework: Partner across Network & Technology and all Verizon Consumer Group Product Organizations to co-author and strictly enforce a unified, automated acceptance criteria protocol.

  • Drive the Automation & Shift-Left Pipeline Strategy: Architect and execute a comprehensive automation roadmap that embeds automated quality checks directly into the continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, transitioning legacy manual processes into a high-velocity, automated testing ecosystem.

  • Establish Next-Gen Testing Guardrails: Define, evangelize, and govern modern quality engineering standards and automated launch verification criteria across complex product lifecycles, backend data flows, and technical platforms.

  • Optimize Elastic Vendor Resourcing: Architect scalable outsourcing frameworks and manage strategic vendor relationships to scale testing capacity up or down dynamically based on commercial release volumes, strictly optimizing operational spend against vendor KPIs and quality SLAs.

  • Govern Predictive Risk Management & Escape Audits: Enforce rigorous, data-driven launch readiness thresholds using automated dashboards, while owning post-launch code-level escape audits and permanent technical remedies when critical defects bypass testing lines.

  • Coordinate Directly with Digital Channel Operations: Hand off immediate front-end commercial mitigation (e.g., promotional kill-switches) while this role isolates the systemic code-level failure.

  • Embed Structural Compliance & Audit Automation: Interlock with corporate Risk Management and Audit teams to translate legal, regulatory, and brand compliance mandates into deterministic, automated validation scripts. Eliminate late-stage legal rollouts by building continuous compliance checking directly into the pre-production runtime environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; Master's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field) is highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Quality Engineering leadership.

  • Proven track record of owning the enterprise manual-to-automation transformation loop, specifically upskilling matrixed product and operational teams across the entire org into automation architects who embed native, zero-human testing guardrails directly into product inception.

  • Proven success navigating complex, matrixed corporate environments, managing delivery dependencies, and accelerating product deployment in full-stack, Agile execution pods.

  • Deep expertise in test automation strategies, CI/CD pipeline integration, DevOps practices, and modern automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or AI-augmented testing tools).

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate highly technical automated metrics and complex bug telemetry into clear, business-focused risk summaries for executive stakeholders.

  • A relentless customer-centric mindset balanced with deep intellectual curiosity, a passion for technology disruption, and a drive to automate everything that can be automated.

  • Demonstrated passion for fostering inclusive environments, building psychological safety, and empowering diverse, cross-functional teams to collaborate openly, challenge the status quo, and deliver collective innovation.
