Role Overview

The Senior Director, Enterprise Forecast Modeling & Insights is a strategic finance leader responsible for the design, ownership, governance, and continuous advancement of the enterprise forecast architecture. This role leads the development and operation of a modern, sophisticated, and scalable enterprise forecasting model that integrates key financial and operational drivers and produces accurate, timely, and actionable insights for finance and enterprise leaders.

Essential Functions

  • Enterprise Forecast Architecture and Ownership - Own the design, governance, and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise forecast architecture, including model framework, key drivers, assumptions, controls, and outputs. Lead development and maintenance of an integrated enterprise forecasting model that supports short-range, in-year, and longer-range views of financial performance.

  • Assumption Governance, Review, and Challenge - Serve as the enterprise owner of forecast assumption review and governance. Review and challenge key forecast inputs from actuarial, market finance, FP&A, accounting, and functional finance teams to ensure reasonableness, consistency, and alignment with emerging experience. Identify assumption gaps, inconsistencies, and material risk areas, and facilitate resolution with the appropriate business and finance leaders.

  • Enterprise Forecasting and Performance Insights - Translate forecast outputs into clear, actionable insights for finance leadership and enterprise leaders. Identify and communicate material trends, variances, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers affecting enterprise results. Develop scenario analyses and decision support views that help leadership assess the financial implications of changing performance, market developments, and strategic actions.

  • Forecast Accuracy, Monitoring, and Continuous Improvement - Monitor actual performance against forecast on an ongoing basis and lead analysis of the primary drivers of variance. Develop and track forecast performance metrics, including accuracy, timeliness, stability, and actionability. Lead root-cause analysis of forecast misses and implement improvements in process, data, assumptions, and model design to strengthen future results.

  • Monthly Close Support, Oversight, and Peer Review - Support monthly close and reforecast cycles by providing structured oversight and peer review of major forecast inputs, assumptions, analyses, and outputs. Partner with actuarial and finance teams to ensure the forecast appropriately reflects current performance, known risks, and material developments. Strengthen alignment between monthly close, reforecasting, and enterprise performance management processes. Identify issues requiring escalation or additional analysis to improve clarity, consistency, and confidence in reported and forecasted results.

  • Forecast Modernization and Capability Development - Drive modernization of enterprise forecasting tools, processes, and analytical methods. Improve automation, model scalability, reporting design, and governance to reduce manual effort and increase speed, transparency, and reliability. Incorporate advanced modeling techniques, improved data integration, and clearer management reporting to support a market-leading forecasting capability.

  • Leadership and Cross-Functional Partnership - Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on enterprise forecasting, model governance, and insight generation. Build strong partnerships across finance, actuarial, and business teams to support enterprise alignment, accountability, and effective execution. Foster a culture of analytical rigor, constructive challenge, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction that improve the quality, relevance, and executive readiness of work product.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or related field required.

  • 10 or more years of actuarial, healthcare finance, forecasting, or related analytical leadership roles, preferably within managed healthcare.

Other Skills

  • Required Qualifications: ASA or FSA required.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex forecasting, financial modeling, or performance management processes across multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Experience partnering across finance, actuarial, and business functions to integrate inputs, challenge assumptions, and improve enterprise decision support.

  • Experience supporting executive-level forecasting, variance analysis, and performance discussions in a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Prior people leadership experience with responsibility for team development, prioritization, and quality of deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Managed care experience across Medicaid, Medicare, Exchange, and/or specialty businesses.

  • Experience building, redesigning, or governing enterprise forecasting models and related governance frameworks.

  • Experience with forecasting modernization, automation, advanced analytics, or planning tool enhancement.

  • Strong understanding of monthly close, reforecast, and executive financial reporting processes.
