A DAY IN THE LIFE Blattner Company, a Quanta Services operating company, is building a Crane & Rigging Center of Excellence (CoE) to coordinate crane expertise, standards, training, and fleet deployment across the Quanta family of operating companies. This is a founding role: the Senior Director will stand up a function that does not fully exist yet, earn the trust of operating companies across the enterprise, and deliver measurable value within the first year backed by a mandate, a budget, and the support of Blattner and Quanta leadership. Quanta’s operating companies collectively run one of the largest crane fleets in North American construction. The CoE exists to help those operating companies navigate that complexity, deploy assets more effectively, and operate to a consistent standard of safety and technical excellence. STEP INTO THE ROLE Stands up the CoE from an early-stage function into a recognized enterprise resource hiring the team, establishing operating cadence, and building the operating-company relationships that make the function valuable.Manages a growing team of crane and rigging professionals, including dedicated hires, fractional contributors from Blattner’s operations, and subject matter experts from other Quanta companies.Manges the CoE’s budget and is accountable for the value it delivers utilization improvement, cost avoidance, standards adoption, and incident reduction.Represents the CoE to Quanta operating company leadership, Blattner’s executive team, and Quanta corporate leadership. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and field experience.12 or more years of leadership in crane and rigging operations, heavy lift planning, or construction equipment management in heavy civil, power generation, renewable energy, or industrial construction; hands-on experience across more than one crane market strongly preferred. 9 or more years of experience leading teams required. What Sets You Apart Ability to travel 40-50% of the time.NCCCO certification (any applicable discipline) preferred; AEMP, CEMP, or equivalent equipment-management credentials preferred.Crane knowledge — deep working knowledge of crane types (lattice boom crawlers, all-terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks, and tower cranes) and the lift environments each is suited to.Experience — hands-on experience across more than one crane market; a background spanning utility-scale renewable work and at least one of gas generation, data center construction, heavy industrial, or high-voltage transmission is strongly preferred.
