Senior Director Contracts
About the Role
As the Senior Director Contracts, you are responsible for negotiating industry-leading national agreements for the group purchasing organization in the area of Capital Sourcing, ensuring best-in-class industry pricing and contract terms and conditions. The role focuses on sourcing initiatives that involve high to very high spend, complexity, risk, and sensitivity. You will serve as an expert negotiator with established customer trust and broad expertise in negotiation principles and contract terms.
You will interpret complex internal or external business issues, provide solutions, and lead back-office team members (finance, contract administration, etc.) on specific tasks and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex sourcing and contracting initiatives from strategy development through contract execution and implementation.
- Independently manage multiple high-priority projects, timelines, and negotiations while consistently delivering results on schedule.
- Serve as a subject matter expert within assigned categories, maintaining deep knowledge of products, suppliers, market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
- Develop and execute innovative contracting and negotiation strategies that optimize value, mitigate risk, and align with organizational objectives.
- Analyze supplier performance, financial reports, market intelligence, product pipelines, and competitive landscapes to drive informed sourcing decisions.
- Lead complex corporate and master agreement negotiations with suppliers across multiple business units.
- Partner with clinicians, physicians, executives, and customer stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies that meet customer needs and organizational goals.
- Present sourcing strategies, recommendations, and award decisions to executive leadership, advisory boards, and other governance groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Supply Chain, Healthcare, Business, Finance).
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in strategic sourcing and negotiating a variety of contracts in Capital Sourcing.
- Proven track record of achieving results in Strategic Sourcing, Contract Negotiation, Contract Management, and Supply Chain Operations.
Healthcare experience highly preferred.
