About the Role

As a Senior Director, Commercial Analytics, HIV Prevention Integrated Insights at Gilead, you will provide enterprise-level leadership in shaping data-driven strategy for the U.S. HIV Prevention business. This role is accountable for defining and advancing the analytics vision, capabilities, and strategic insights that inform critical commercial decisions across the business unit, including Market Expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the commercial analytics strategy for HIV Prevention, ensuring alignment with business unit priorities and long-term growth objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Executive Director and VP-level leaders, shaping key business decisions, investment priorities, and go-to-market strategies.
  • li>Translate complex market dynamics, customer behaviors, and performance signals into enterprise-level insights that influence strategic direction.
  • Lead analytics support for multi-year planning processes (e.g., LSP), ensuring integration of data-driven perspectives into business strategy.
  • Drive the evolution of analytics capabilities, including the adoption of advanced methodologies, AI/ML solutions, and innovative data sources to generate competitive advantage.
  • Establish and institutionalize best practices, frameworks, and standards for performance measurement, insight generation, and decision support across therapeutic areas.
  • Oversee the design of enterprise-level KPI frameworks, dashboards, and diagnostic tools to monitor and optimize business performance.
  • Lead identification and application of emerging technologies and data ecosystems to enhance insight generation and predictive capabilities.
  • Integrate insights across multiple data streams to inform high-stakes business decisions, including brand strategy, market expansion, and customer engagement approaches.
  • Lead development of strategic business cases to prioritize investments and address complex commercial challenges.
  • Direct advanced analytics initiatives across areas such as segmentation, patient journey analytics, treatment dynamics, and commercial optimization.
  • Ensure analytics outputs are translated into clear, actionable recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership across Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Digital, and Commercial Operations to align on priorities and drive execution of strategy.
  • Serve as a trusted cross-functional thought leader, recognized for deep expertise and ability to influence decisions across the organization.
  • Lead strategic relationships with external partners and consulting organizations, ensuring delivery of high-impact insights and capabilities.
  • Operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment, influencing without authority and aligning diverse stakeholders.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, diverse analytics organization, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Scale impact through direct and indirect leadership, enabling execution across teams, partners, and stakeholder groups.
  • Establish clear priorities, performance standards, and development pathways to grow organizational capability aligned to future business needs.
  • Champion inclusion, talent development, and team engagement as core drivers of performance.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in commercial analytics, insights, or strategy within pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with enterprise-level impact.
  • Proven ability to operate as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, influencing critical business decisions.
  • Experience developing and scaling advanced analytics capabilities and data-driven transformation efforts.
  • Track record of leading high-performing teams and developing talent.

Skills

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate data into actionable insight.
  • Executive presence and ability to influence at the ED/VP level.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and solve complex, novel business challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling capability for senior audiences.
  • Deep knowledge of secondary data sources and analytics platforms.

Pay

The salary range for this position is: $261,375.00 - $338,250.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with 14+ years of experience, OR Master’s Degree with 12+ years of experience, OR PhD with 10+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in HIV or virology therapeutic areas, including provider-administered markets.
  • Experience integrating AI/advanced analytics solutions into commercial decision-making.
  • MBA or advanced degree in healthcare, analytics, business, or related field.
