About the role

The Senior Director, CEO & Product Communications serves as a strategic counselor, executive operator, and connector across Autodesk’s most critical moments and audiences. This role operates across two primary areas: CEO communications in direct partnership with CEO Andrew Anagnost, and product and industry communications supporting Autodesk’s business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Operates as primary communications partner to the CEO, providing strategic counsel, message development, and content creation.

  • Shapes and evolves the CEO narrative platform, including positioning around Physical AI and Autodesk’s platform strategy.

  • Develops high-visibility executive content such as keynotes, speeches, earnings support, media engagements, Board materials, and thought leadership.

  • Supports the CEO for external engagements with media, analysts, investors, customers, and industry partners.

  • Owns communications strategy for Autodesk’s industry groups, partnering directly with executive leaders.

  • Translates complex product capabilities, platform innovation, and AI advancements into clear, compelling narratives for external audiences.

  • Leads proactive storytelling that strengthens Autodesk’s position across priority industries and growth areas.

  • Partners closely with Product Marketing to deliver integrated narratives for launches, events, and strategic initiatives.

  • Acts as a strategic advisor and connector across the business, ensuring alignment between product strategy, corporate positioning, and company narratives.

  • Collaborates with Investor Relations, Legal, Marketing, and executive leadership to align messaging across key company moments including earnings, product launches, customer events, and strategic transactions.

  • Ensures consistency, clarity, and impact across all external communications.

  • Leads and develops a high-performing team (10 ppl) focused on executive and product communications.

  • Manages agency partners and external resources as needed.

  • Drives prioritization, operational rigor, and execution in a complex, fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in communications, with strong experience in enterprise technology or B2B software.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting CEO or senior executive communications at a public company.

  • Experience supporting communications that influence investors, analysts, Board members, and other senior external stakeholders.

  • Proven track record in product or platform communications, with the ability to translate complex technology into market-relevant narratives.

  • Experience operating across executive and product communications in an integrated way.

  • Experience leading and developing teams.

Skills

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt to CEO voice and technical narratives.

  • Executive presence with demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, challenge assumptions constructively, and build alignment while maintaining trust and credibility.

  • Strategic judgment paired with a hands-on approach to execution.

  • Deep understanding of the communications rhythm of a public company, including earnings, launches, and major events.

  • Strong media instincts and relationships, particularly in enterprise technology and industry press.

Pay

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $190,000 and $341,220. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
