Role Summary

Owns Applied's equipment peer partnership portfolio end to end — identification, structuring, execution, and monetization. Partners across the Technology Pathfinding team to convert emerging technology directions into structured business and technology Joint Development Agreements (JDAs) and strategic alliances, and drives measurable revenue growth through those relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Peer Partnerships: Own the full lifecycle of key equipment peer partnerships: target identification, engagement strategy, negotiation, launch, and ongoing governance. Serve as the single accountable owner and senior point of contact for each named partnership, internally and externally. Map the partner landscape against Applied's technology roadmap gaps and determine which relationships to pursue, sustain, or exit.

  • JDA and Deal Structuring with Technology Pathfinding: Work across Technology Pathfinding to translate pathfinding programs and device architecture needs into structured business and technology JDAs. Architect commercial and technical terms — scope, milestones, IP, cost sharing, exclusivity, and exit — in partnership with Legal, Finance, IP, and the business units. Drive cross-functional alignment from concept to signature, then transition executed agreements into disciplined program governance.

  • Revenue Growth and Commercial Ownership: Drive revenue growth through the partnership portfolio, building the business case, pricing/value model, and monetization path for each relationship. Manage the partnership portfolio like a product: business plan, positioning, market requirements, and go-to-market plan integrated with Applied's product strategy. Identify and qualify new revenue opportunities from market, competitive, and customer analysis, and convert them into funded partnership initiatives.

  • Relationship Ownership, Metrics, and Governance: Own all aspects of assigned relationships, including executive cadence, escalation, joint roadmap reviews, and partner satisfaction. Define, baseline, and report the metrics of success for each partnership; own the partnership scorecard and quarterly business reviews. Provide a consolidated view of partnership health, risk, and value capture to Applied senior leadership.

  • Broad command of semiconductor equipment, unit process, process integration, and device architecture trends, with executive-level communication and influencing skills.

  • Proven track record structuring and closing JDAs, alliances, and complex commercial agreements with equipment peers, OEMs, or ecosystem partners.
