About the role
Verizon is building a next-generation advertising and data monetization business and seeks a visionary and strategic Senior Director to oversee and scale this newly formed division.
Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Direct and mentor a team of 9 FTEs, including the Head of Ad Product & Partnerships, Head of Media Sales, Director of Ad Operations & Yield, and their respective teams (Integration Engineers, Client Partners, and Campaign Managers).
- Strategic Vision: Own the overarching business strategy for Verizon’s ad products, including premium lock-screen inventory, digital OOH, and owned properties.
- Go-To-Market & Revenue Growth: Oversee the development of the GTM strategy and support the Head of Media Sales in securing foundational alpha/beta advertisers with major advertising holding companies and tier-1 brands.
- Product & Technical Oversight: Guide the Product and Engineering teams in managing critical third-party vendor relationships (e.g., Glance) and building privacy-first ad solutions like clean room integrations.
- Commercial Performance: Ensure the team effectively manages yield, pricing strategies, and inventory flow to maximize revenue without cannibalizing premium core placements.
- Executive Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between the advertising division and broader Verizon leadership, collaborating heavily with Data Strategy, Legal/Privacy (CPNI), and core telecommunications business units.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience, Master's Degree highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10-12+ years of progressive leadership experience in ad-tech, media sales, digital advertising, or retail media networks.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional leaders and building high-performing teams from the ground up (zero-to-one experience).
- Deep understanding of the mobile advertising ecosystem, programmatic architecture, data clean rooms, and digital yield management.
- Strong executive presence with a track record of driving multi-million dollar revenue growth and managing enterprise-level vendor relationships.
- Ability to navigate and lead within a complex, highly matrixed corporate environment.
