General Statement of Responsibilities

This is a FLSA exempt position. The incumbent serves as the senior director for all adult and child clinical services provided in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area. The incumbent administers, coordinates and supervises the staff and activities of the Center and serves as the principal representative to the community for Region Ten’s commitment to identifying and addressing the mental health, substance use disorder and intellectual/developmental disability clinical needs of the people served in this community. He/she is the primary resource for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of programming for child and family services in coordination with leadership team and under the supervision of the executive director. The position holder is responsible for staff deployment, service structure, service priorities, budget management, and revenue enhancement. The incumbent is accountable for overall program compliance with all licensure, best practices, and Region Ten policies. The incumbent will report to the Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 years of increasingly responsible experience working in the mental health and substance addiction fields. Preferred experience in public sector/community services board work, supervision of multi-disciplinary staff, knowledge and experience with Medicaid requirements and reimbursement, and understanding of Virginia law as it pertains to behavioral health.

  • Certification/License: The incumbent must be licensed as an LCSW or an LPC.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge: Of Management/administration of child and family mental health, intellectual disability (ID) and substance use disorders delivery systems. Program planning and evaluation Fiscal management (budgeting, resource allocation and monitoring, grant writing) Documentation of clinical work Training and staff development Policy formulation and implementation Principles, theory and techniques of adult therapy, adult development, adult psychopathology, adult substance abuse Clinical and administrative supervision Laws and federal, state and local regulations regarding adult services Medicaid services to children and families

    • Skills: In Communicating (verbal, written and interpersonal) Rapidly assessing emergency situations Conducting program needs assessments Developing program goals and objectives Preparing and monitoring budgets Doing simple accounting Delivering effective mental health and substance abuse services Developing, implementing and evaluating programs Developing consensus Providing leadership Coordinating and collaborating with diverse groups Providing supervision Utilizing all major computer software

$93,717.09 - $140,575.63
