About the Role
The Senior Developer - Software Tester role is responsible for enhancing software quality by leading complex functional testing and automation efforts. This position ensures the delivery of reliable software features by designing test strategies, creating and executing test cases, and developing automation frameworks. The role significantly contributes to product quality and development efficiency by collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring less experienced testers.
Responsibilities
- Select appropriate testing tools and provide test automation solutions.
- Design and execute functional test scenarios from user stories.
- Perform manual testing and review features to determine regression and automation coverage.
- Participate in scrum activities including meetings, sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
- Analyze software systems and coordinate with other teams to improve design.
- Create and maintain complex automation scripts using Serenity framework.
- Setup Serenity framework for multifaceted automation tests across devices.
- Understand code interactions and recommend adjustments.
- Collaborate with DevOps to scale test automation and promote BDD and TDD practices.
- Conduct proof of concept activities related to testing and automation.
- Resolve technical issues in collaboration with developers and DevOps.
- Schedule automated test runs using Cron jobs.
- Perform root cause analysis for failed test scripts and maintain automation scripts.
- Demonstrate complex automation scripts and obtain code approval.
- Develop test automation scripts for API testing using Rest Assured and Postman.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in IT or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in software development and quality assurance.
- Expertise in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin BDD, Appium.
- Strong experience with Serenity framework.
- Proficient in writing clear, concise test cases and conducting functional and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with Agile processes and DevOps practices.
- Strong Java programming and Selenium skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages and process management methodologies.
- Ability to identify risks and errors in applications.
- Experience with Behavior Driven Development and Test Driven Development.
- Familiarity with microservices patterns and principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and team collaboration.
- Experience with layered testing approaches and large complex digital products.
- Proficient with JIRA.
- Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
- Preferred experience with data platforms and performance, load, reliability, chaos testing.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
