About the role
The WREGIS team is working with a vendor to develop proprietary software to replace an existing third-party system. In this role, you will serve as a hands-on technical leader who bridges business needs and software solutions, guiding work from concept through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Work with business and technical staff to plan, develop, document, and support custom in-house developed software.
- Write clean, logical, high-quality code and adopt test-driven development and Agile practices.
- Stay up to date on new technologies and approaches to software development.
- Lead projects from planning through final delivery and oversee unit and regression testing, ensuring high-quality outcomes, by facilitating collaboration, identifying and removing blockers, and guiding teammates to solve complex problems.
- Mentor junior members of the development and technical staff.
- Set technical direction and make key architectural decisions while balancing hands-on coding.
- Create, follow, and enhance company testing and development processes.
- Work to minimize risk by identifying, communicating, and escalating issues to management.
- Develop reusable software in a manner consistent with industry best-practice.
- Contribute to and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS/Terraform/Kubernetes) during application development and post-development.
- Design and implement event-sourced domain models with persistent projections.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or have an equivalent combination of education and work experience resulting in demonstrated ability to perform major duties.
- Have a minimum of 8+ years’ experience working as a professional software developer.
- Have experience in full stack web development with TypeScript monorepo architectures.
- Leverage automated testing in your experience.
- Experience with event sourcing and CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation) is strongly preferred.
- Can work productively with an internal team and strategic partners.
- Have in-depth experience with TypeScript across the full stack (frontend and backend).
- Strong experience with React (v18+) and modern React ecosystem libraries (TanStack Query, TanStack Router, React Hook Form).
- Comfortable with collaborative development practices including code review, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
- Understand and adhere to sound principles of cybersecurity, including protecting sensitive information, using secure passwords, and following organizational cybersecurity protocols.
- Experience with NestJS or similar server-side TypeScript frameworks.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (Drizzle, Prisma, or TypeORM).
- Experience with containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes (Helm charts, EKS).
- Familiarity with AWS services (Cognito, S3, SES, RDS, Secrets Manager, ECR).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
- Experience with authorization frameworks (RBAC/ABAC, CASL preferred).
Benefits and Compensation
The base salary range for this full-time position is $127,900–$159,900 + discretionary pay + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and mid-point for the position across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
