Senior Designer, Power Delivery
About the role
At CobbFendley, we are seeking an experienced Senior Designer in our The Woodlands or Houston, Texas office. Our ideal candidate should have 10+ years of design experience, advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, and proficiency in drafting software.
Responsibilities
- Independently execute design tasks for moderately complex projects, supporting Project Managers and Project Engineers.
- Utilize engineering and drafting software to develop, refine, and coordinate plan, profile, cross-section, and utility drawings.
- Interpret survey data, utility records, specifications, and engineering plans to develop accurate and complete design base files.
- Translate engineering concepts and direction into coordinated and constructable plan sets.
- Incorporate and manage redlines and review comments with minimal rework.
- Perform design calculations, including grading, drainage, utility layouts, and quantity takeoffs.
- Identify design conflicts, discrepancies, and constructability concerns and propose solutions for review.
- Coordinate field data integration and support design adjustments based on findings if applicable.

- Advanced understanding and substantial experience in engineering design principles, applicable codes and standards, and established design practices.
- Knowledge of engineering design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to analyze data, apply design criteria, and use standard office and engineering software to produce accurate design documentation and support project completion.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of design experience.

Schedule
This is a full-time position, generally 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as needed.
Work Location Flexibility
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule once the training period is complete as established by the department.
