About the role
The Senior Designer position is available in the Buildings, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Group at our new Atlanta office. This role is ideal for a mid-level career professional with 6+ years of experience in CAD design, specifically in distributed energy resources (DER).
Responsibilities
- Supports the design of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems for various facility types including institutional, commercial, and industrial.
- Produces detailed electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for projects.
- Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient completion of projects within budget and timeline.
- Communicates effectively with Project Manager, Senior Electrical Engineer, and other design team members to manage project progress.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in CAD design, particularly with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, and IEEE codes and standards.
- Some knowledge of MV and substation interconnection/protection.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to ask questions when needed.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Precision and accuracy in work, with a methodical approach.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in CAD design.
- Exposure to CAD drawings related to DER.
- Experience with NEC, NESC, and IEEE codes and standards.
- Knowledge of MV and substation interconnection/protection.
- Willingness to communicate and ask questions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of precision and accuracy.
Skills
