About the role

The Senior Designer position is available in the Buildings, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Group at our new Atlanta office. This role is ideal for a mid-level career professional with 6+ years of experience in CAD design, specifically in distributed energy resources (DER).

Responsibilities

  • Supports the design of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems for various facility types including institutional, commercial, and industrial.
  • Produces detailed electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for projects.
  • Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient completion of projects within budget and timeline.
  • Communicates effectively with Project Manager, Senior Electrical Engineer, and other design team members to manage project progress.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in CAD design, particularly with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, and IEEE codes and standards.
  • Some knowledge of MV and substation interconnection/protection.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to ask questions when needed.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Precision and accuracy in work, with a methodical approach.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in CAD design.
  • Exposure to CAD drawings related to DER.
  • Experience with NEC, NESC, and IEEE codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of MV and substation interconnection/protection.
  • Willingness to communicate and ask questions.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of precision and accuracy.

Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
