We’re seeking a Senior Designer to join our team in Houston TX. You’ll have the opportunity to use your vast experience in the industry and apply it to solving today’s challenges. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide by providing a range of skills as part of an integrated building services design.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls
- Prepare load analysis for different stages of design
- Oversee the preparation of drawings detailing system design
- Prepare basis of design reports
- Prepare and document energy compliance calculations and forms
- Design grounding and lightning protection
- Design redundant electrical systems
- Mitigate hazardous area concerns
- Select equipment and fixtures for use in the building
- Coordinate with engineers and architects of other disciplines
- Facilitate construction administration
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Ability to obtain or actively pursuing Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
- At least 4-5 years of experience working in a corporate engineering environment in an electrical engineering capacity
- Strong technical focus in the Architectural Engineering space and/or Medium Voltage Design
- Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Proficiency in the Power, Lighting, and low voltage design of various types of commercial buildings
- Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, and remaining dedicated to teamwork
- Experience leading and overseeing the work and growth of junior engineers
Qualifications
- Exposure to medium voltage (and high voltage) power distribution design
- Exposure to short circuit, arch flash, and coordination electrical studies
- Experience with technical writing and reports
- Exposure to mission critical concepts for healthcare, datacenters, and/or transportation
- Experience specifying electrical equipment including transformers, switchboards, panelboards, overcurrent protective devices, conductors, raceway, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, motors, and variable frequency drives
- An appreciation for travel in support of projects and sales pursuits as a subject matter expert (scalable to your life)

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $74,700.00 to $120,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
