About the role
The Senior Designer is responsible for creating technical drawings and specifications for components and tooling used to manufacture Brushless DC Motors (BLDC Motors) and Voice Coil Actuators (VCAs) used in a variety of applications including Aerospace and Defense.
Responsibilities
- Develops precise drawings and prints for manufacturing equipment, tools, and products based on the specifications provided by engineers and product designers.
- Utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software to create, modify, and update technical drawings and schematics.
- Creates detailed assembly instructions and diagrams to guide the manufacturing process, ensuring all parts and components fit together correctly.
- Works closely with mechanical engineers, industrial designers, and other professionals to ensure that designs are accurate and meet project specifications.
- Includes detailed information on materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes in the drawings to ensure that production teams have all the necessary information.
- Ensures that the final product meets the design specifications and quality standards by conducting quality checks and inspections.
Qualifications
- Relevant work experience or knowledge of the role.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Additional Responsibilities
- Work with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to translate design concepts for BLDC Motors and VCAs into detailed component and assembly drawings, ensuring customer requirements are being met.
- Maintain and update BOMs and drawings through ECOs using Sensata’s document control systems.
- Support prototype development, design verification, and production release activities.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience supporting design of BLDC motors and voice coil actuators or similar rotational and linear motion solutions.
- Exposure to DFM/DFA, or other design validation and manufacturing support activities.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis for components and assemblies.
- High attention to detail and an ability to communicate within a cross-functional team effectively.
Pay
Hourly Base Pay Range: $37.60 - $51.70
