Senior Designer

About the role

Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads the design team and provides a consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers
• Greet store customers and support design walk-ins
• Schedule design appointments and generate leads
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessory advice for both residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Communicate with customers and others throughout the project lifecycle
• Use company communication tools and emails consistently
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects
• Engage in design trends and participate in professional affiliations
• Utilize design applications such as Salesforce and the online appointment scheduler

Requirements

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design)
• 6 years interior design experience (or combination of education and experience equal to 6 years)
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite

Qualifications

• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position

Pay

Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.70

Schedule

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Working Conditions

• May require limited travel by car
• Exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles
• Moderate to noisy noise levels in the work environment
• Medium work – ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Occasional exposure to physical demands such as standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
