Senior Deputy District Attorney – Special Assistant United States Attorney

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and litigate cases in United States District Court
• Provide agencies (e.g., DEA, FBI, and ATF) with legal advice, including rules of evidence and rules of procedure
• Perform quality legal research
• Draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and pleadings
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as an attorney at law, including two years of experience prosecuting or defending criminal cases in court
• Possession of a license to practice law in Colorado from the Colorado Supreme Court at the time of application
• A strong commitment to public service
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Excellent judgment
