Senior Investigative Assistant District Attorney
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out long-term investigations
- Prepare and present grand jury presentations
- Prosecute cases arising from investigations
- Engage in plea negotiations, conduct hearings and trials
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of investigative methods and applicable law
- Participate in meetings and conferences with law enforcement agencies
- Communicate effectively with various organizational levels, both internally and externally
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate and active New York State Bar membership required
- US Citizenship and New York State residency required on first day of employment
- At least 25 years of experience conducting investigative and trial work
- At least 10 years of experience prosecuting financial crimes, preferably in the healthcare field
- Significant experience conducting long-term investigations
- Experience with investigating and trying racketeering cases
- Significant trial experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Strong legal writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ethical standards
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to handle complex issues from investigation to conclusion
- Knowledge of NYS courts and the criminal justice system
