Senior Depot Specialist
Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Depot Specialist to join our team supporting defense products and systems deployed worldwide. This hands-on role provides responsive support for hardware and information needs to customers and Saab colleagues, maintains inventory and related records, coordinates vendor repairs, and ensures seamless, professional support.
About the role
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with significant experience supporting defense systems. This position requires extensive travel (approximately 75% of the time), sometimes on short notice, with assignments lasting longer than two months. Candidates must be able to work effectively in demanding operational environments, both independently and as part of a team. The role offers the opportunity to work with advanced defense technologies and contribute directly to mission success.
Responsibilities
- Work at remote depot facilities approximately 75% of the time.
- Receive, process, ship, and control inventory of Saab-owned and Government or Customer-owned parts and equipment.
- Communicate with repair vendors to support timely repair and return of equipment.
- Replenish inventory through Saab purchasing systems.
- Maintain accurate records related to inventory, parts processing, financial transactions, and repair status.
- Conduct physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and accountability.
- Establish and manage depot operations at new locations.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; BA/BS in a technical discipline preferred.
- Must hold an active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Strong military, federal, or defense contractor experience in logistics, property accountability, depot operations, and maintenance support required.
- The most relevant military specialties include:
- Army: 92A (Automated Logistical Specialist), 92Y (Unit Supply Specialist), 91X (Maintenance Supervisor).
- Marine Corps: 3043 (Supply Administration and Operations), 3051 (Warehouse Clerk), 0411 (Maintenance Management Specialist).
- Navy: LS (Logistics Specialist), Supply Corps Officer.
- Air Force: 2S0X1 (Supply Management), 2R0X1 (Maintenance Management Analyst), 2A6X2 (Aerospace Ground Equipment).
- Experience within a military S4, N4, A4, or J4 shop.
- Highly aligned federal civilian backgrounds include: GS-0346 Logistics Management Specialist.
- Contractor experience in Government Property Administration or Asset Management (GFE, GFP, IUID, FAR 45).
- Experience in depot or warehouse operations.
- Must be capable of lifting and moving components weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must demonstrate reliability, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multitask and follow up on action items and requests in a timely manner.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Focus on providing quality support and accurate information.
Skills
- Experience with computer systems and software, such as Microsoft Excel (desired).
- Forklift experience desirable.

Pay
Compensation Range: $34.62 - $43.27 per hour. The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
