Senior Demand Planner
About the Role
UST is searching for a Senior Demand Planner with 2 years of experience in supply chain management or supporting supply chain, preferably. This role involves developing SKU-level operational forecasts for a portfolio of products through coordination of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes using SAP Demand Planning functionality.
You will interact regularly with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, CPFR, Finance, and Supply Planning. Utilizing historical order and shipment data, current POS trends, trade inventory data, and promotional activity information, you will develop the best possible demand plans for new and existing products.
Key responsibilities include quantifying and communicating forecast gaps, leading cross-functional forecast reviews in accordance with IBP process standards, and maintaining accountability for MAPE and Forecast Accuracy metrics to identify areas of improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop SKU-level operational forecasts for assigned products via IBP processes using SAP Demand Planning.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Planning, etc.) to gather and analyze data for demand planning.
- Utilize historical order/shipment data, POS trends, trade inventory, and promotional activity to refine demand plans.
- Quantify and communicate forecast gaps to stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional forecast reviews in alignment with IBP process standards.
- Maintain and improve MAPE and Forecast Accuracy metrics.
- Identify areas for process and forecast improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong knowledge of Excel (e.g., vLookups, pivot tables).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with initiative.
- Ability to thrive in a matrix environment with rapidly changing priorities and tight deadlines.
This position is based in Summit, NJ, and may require up to 10% domestic and international travel.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of business experience preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, customer service, and/or planning is a plus.
- Intermediate knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Forecasting experience preferred.
- Experience in the Consumer industry or other FDA-regulated industry is preferred.
- APICS certification is preferred.
- Lean, Six-Sigma, or Process Excellence training/certification is preferred.
Pay
Compensation range for this role in New Jersey: $57,000–$88,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as location, role, skill set, education, and experience.
