Senior Demand Planner
This role plays a key role in ensuring accurate future forecasts that align with Category Management and Merchandise Planning. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Replenishment, the Sr. Demand Planner works closely with the Sr. Replenishment Analyst and Replenishment Analysts to refine items throughout the product lifecycle. They utilize the demand planning tool (Relex) through exceptions and advanced forecasting parameter management to drive acceptable forecast accuracy measures and work directly with the Business System Administrator to develop ongoing system and process enhancements. The demand developed will be used for replenishment orders and drive Distribution Centers (DC), Logistics, and Stores to help plan labor and assets for efficiency.
This position is located at our Store Support Office in Phoenix, Arizona, and operates on a hybrid schedule (in office Tuesday-Thursday).
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility to refine and/or develop forecasts by item for assigned categories
- Daily management of system exceptions to maximize fill-rates and freshness
- Works closely with DC Inventory Management to share forecasted store orders and inbound demand
- Partners with Inventory Analyst team to refine exceptions, new and discontinued items
- Works closely with the Merchandise Planning team to align overall category forecast and promotional planning
- Clear communicator of known issues impacting ability to meet KPIs
- Creates strategies with the broader team to meet category goals
- Active participant in driving continuous improvement ideas for systems and processes
- Key contributor to weekly meetings outlining trends to capitalize on while minimizing negative impacts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of ten (5) years of experience in produce buying; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Ability to successfully manage concurrent projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to supervise personnel effectively
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
- Sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Relex or similar Inventory Management tool experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Most work is performed in a normal office environment either in the Store Support Office or remotely
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machine requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and eye movement
