About the Role

As a Senior Database Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of complex database systems that drive mission success. You’ll oversee the architecture, implementation, and performance of data solutions ensuring security, efficiency, and scalability across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Lead database design, development, and implementation across multiple projects
• Create database parser and loading software
• Design and optimize complex database structures that align with system architecture
• Manage data flow, storage, retrieval, and analysis to support mission-critical operations
• Translate requirements into database schemas using scripts, queries, and macros
• Oversee the development of cloud-based database systems using Open Database Connectivity
• Guide performance tuning, version control, and configuration management best practices
• Evaluate and direct improvements to database processes, storage efficiency, and reliability

Requirements

• TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Ten (10) years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
• Five (5) additional years of DBE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

Advanced experience with cloud-based and distributed database environments

Strong understanding of database performance optimization and data governance

Experience with version control, configuration management, and CI/CD integration

Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers in database best practices
