About the role
The Senior Data Engineer is a data expert who plays a key role in developing and deploying innovative big data platforms for advanced analytics and data processing. This position supports building scalable and effective solutions using a modern technology stack to grow and leverage the company’s vast data assets. The role involves collaborating with functional teams, software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists to ensure optimal data delivery architecture across projects.
Responsibilities
- Drive innovation and play a key role in departmental initiatives with broad impact.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
- Design, develop, code, test, and document architectures and applications.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables support business requirements and align with best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of data issues.
- Make innovative recommendations to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
- Perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-8 years of directly related experience.
- Experience working in Agile SDLC methodology.
- Proficient with SQL and T-SQL programming skills.
- Working experience building data/ETL pipelines and data warehouses.
- Demonstrated expertise in data modeling, database maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning on SQL Server, MongoDB, or other NoSQL databases.
- Exceptional analytical skills for analyzing large and complex data sets.
- Ability to perform thorough testing and data validation to ensure accuracy of data transformations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with precise documentation.
- Self-driven team player with the ability to work independently and multitask.
- Analytical, creative thinker, and innovative problem solver.
- Working knowledge of modern cloud computing technology.
Candidates selected for employment will be required to successfully complete a background check and credit check as a condition of employment, where permitted by applicable law.
Pay
$129,300.00 - $172,300.00 annually.
