Senior Cyber Program Manager
About the role
The Senior Cyber Program Manager within the Cyber Execution and Transformation team at Capital One is responsible for enabling continued delivery on technology organization’s top priorities. The ideal candidate will have experience with problem solving, critical thinking ability and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Help deliver Cyber capabilities that will help Capital One customers to have incredible, secure experiences.

- Have a quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions; a systems thinker.
- Be able to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives.
- Have a background in Cyber or Cloud implementations.
- Have a strong technical background (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle.
- Have exceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.
- Have highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seeded empathy for teams and partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 6 years of experience in program management
- At least 3 years of people management experience
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a related technical (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or Program Management field (preferred)
- Experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing (preferred)
- Experience delivering Cybersecurity solutions and capabilities (preferred)
- Experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture using AWS (preferred)
- Experience building highly scalable mobile products and platforms (preferred)
- Experience with Agile delivery (preferred)
- Experience delivering large and complex programs owning the business or technical vision, collaborating with large cross-functional teams, securing commitments on deliverables, and unblocking teams to land business impact (preferred)
- Experience implementing Cyber Operations technologies (preferred)
- Experience working with AI technologies (preferred)

Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr Manager, Project Management
Schedule
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
