Senior Customer Sales Representative

About the role

Avenue Logistics is a dynamic, fast-growing, and innovative company located in the Power and Light District of Kansas City. We are seeking a Senior Customer Sales Representative to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers
• Secure capacity and negotiate rates
• Track freight to provide the best service to our customers
• Utilize in-house CRM and proprietary software to identify and provide logistics solutions
• Act as the intermediary between shippers and transportation companies
• Seek new customers, partners, and vendors to expand Avenue’s customer network
• Build and expand your book of business by adding new leads
• Collaborate with carrier partners and shippers to continuously seek new solutions and opportunities for their business
• Improve the quality of our transportation partners and shipper base

Requirements

• 5+ years experience at a 3PL in a sales-focused role; preferably direct experience in Customer Sales or Business Development at a top ten freight brokerage
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems under pressure
• Analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Competitive and intrinsically motivated mentality
• Motivated by money and driven by numbers
• Self-motivated, able to manage own time, and organized
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires problem-solving and decision making
• Knowledge of market and industry trends
• Ability to price lanes effectively and strategically
