About the Role

As a Senior Crew Lead, you will lead and oversee technicians performing aircraft maintenance, ensuring all work is completed with quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on guidance to support the growth and performance of Lead Technicians and Technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Walk through hangar prior to shift start and end, taking notes on racks, tables, fire bottles, and general cleanliness; assign technicians to fix findings.
  • Review previous shift shop turnover log.
  • Review work orders hourly to ensure tasks stay on track with ERTS data following the inspection flow outline.
  • Assign technicians to tasks needed to maintain workflow.
  • Review work orders and order parts required for tasks.
  • Move tasks into proper locations (e.g., Interiors, Findings) within the work order.
  • Coordinate with interiors team to distinguish their tasks from maintenance items and update work orders accordingly.
  • Coordinate with parts room to track parts scheduled to arrive daily for inspection flow.
  • Monitor technicians for safety compliance and provide coaching for growth and improvement.
  • Direct the work of Leads and technicians on shift.
  • Inspect the overall aircraft for any issues not caught during inspection.
  • Review CAMP cards and open/close sheets for accuracy.
  • Review all parts requests before submitting to corridor.
  • Provide periodic updates to the Maintenance Manager during the shift.
  • Ensure maintenance technicians' timecards are correct and submitted to payroll on time.
  • Make recommendations for hiring, firing, and promotions for Leads and Technicians.
  • Complete shift turnover log for inspections and hand over to the next shift.
  • Maintain a minimum of 50% billable time during shift.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned maintenance personnel, ensuring work aligns with FAA regulations and company standards.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in handling time and attendance, PTO, and performance concerns for technicians.
  • Assist in managing shift scheduling and coverage.
  • Serve as a mentor to Technicians and Leads, offering technical guidance and development.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance leadership to implement improvements and uphold safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and safety.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to fumes, mechanical parts, vibration, and noise inside and outside the hangar.
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions and aircraft engine noise.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, lie, and kneel in tight spaces.
  • Perform work on scaffolding and ladders.
  • Regularly lift and pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for tool use and repair work.
  • Visual acuity to inspect and identify defects.
  • Hearing ability to assess mechanical sound conditions.

Dress Code and Uniform

  • Well-groomed appearance.
  • Adherence to department dress code.

Travel

Some travel may be required (less than 10%).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License.
  • 5+ years of experience in an aircraft maintenance environment performing hands-on aircraft maintenance.
  • Minimum of 2 years Maintenance Lead experience with proven leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems and interactions.
  • Thorough knowledge of current FAA regulations, IPM, and ATA codes.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and provide two forms of Federal Identification.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, including verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and other relevant information.
  • This position is classified as Safety-Sensitive under FAA regulations and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Experience with Corridor software.
  • Experience with corporate/business jets.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft parts, systems, tools, and testing methods.
  • High attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft manuals.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel).
  • Leadership and time management skills.
  • Adaptability and performance under pressure.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Strong reasoning, memorization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Familiarity with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Scissor Lift Certified (Preferred).
  • Forklift Certified (Preferred).
