About the role
The Traffic Control Flagger Crew Lead position at PSG Traffic Services is responsible for directing traffic around construction zones, maintenance projects, accidents, or other temporary traffic disruption areas. This role ensures the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians by maintaining proper traffic control and adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct traffic control crews to ensure work zones are set up safely and in accordance with approved traffic control plans.
- Train, mentor, and assign crew members while promoting safe work practices and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control devices, including signs, cones, and barricades.
- Monitor work zones for safety hazards, respond to changing conditions, and report incidents, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
- Complete required documentation, including crew activities, equipment usage, and incident reports.
- Perform Traffic Control Flagger duties as needed.
- Maintain required certifications, including ATSSA Flagger Certification (or company-approved equivalent).
Requirements
- 3-6 months prior experience as a Traffic Control Flagger or Crew Lead required.
- Experience with traffic control procedures, safety regulations, and work zone best practices.
- Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced, changing environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and remain standing or walking for extended periods (8-12 hours).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform the physical demands of the role.
Qualifications
Must remain in good standing throughout the 60-day probationary period and successfully complete Crew Lead evaluations.
