Senior Credit Counselor

About the role

Responsible for being proficient in repossession, bankruptcy, and deceased accounts. Perform collection activities associated with various delinquent member accounts, including Visa credit and debit cards, lines of credit, secured loans, signature loans, real estate loans, home equity lines of credit, negative shares, and returned checks. Review delinquent accounts to determine probable reasons for account status and contact members to resolve the delinquencies. Utilize various techniques, as circumstances indicate, to promptly collect on delinquent accounts while ensuring the Credit Union's professional image is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Handle repossession, bankruptcy, and deceased accounts
• Perform collection activities on delinquent member accounts (Visa credit/debit cards, lines of credit, secured loans, signature loans, real estate loans, home equity lines of credit, negative shares, and returned checks)
• Review delinquent accounts to identify reasons for delinquency
• Contact members to resolve delinquencies using appropriate techniques
• Maintain the Credit Union’s professional image during all interactions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of phone customer service experience
• Previous collection experience
• Ability to type
• Solid computer skills
• Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
