The Senior Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Portfolio Manager assists with managing the credit risk and loan quality of the CRE loan portfolio by supporting CRE loan officers with preliminary review and underwriting of new loan opportunities, collecting customer financial information, monitoring portfolio performance, and maintaining regular customer contact. This role also involves preparing monthly and quarterly portfolio management reports and may include direct responsibility for smaller or low-activity CRE loan accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze financial and related data to establish creditworthiness and make recommendations for new loans, extensions, and renewals.
  • Coordinate and collect required financial reporting from existing CRE customers (monthly, quarterly, and annual) in accordance with loan terms and policy requirements.
  • Continuously monitor the commercial real estate portfolio for collateral and credit quality, including covenant testing, annual reviews, and risk rating assessments to provide early warnings of potential deterioration.
  • Assist loan officers in ordering and reviewing third-party reports (appraisals, environmental, building condition) and perform site inspections as needed.
  • Support the design and development of loan concentration and property sensitivity analysis reports in cooperation with Risk Management and Credit.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for customer service issues within the client base and promote exceptional service.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with other areas in the Commercial Lending Division and other CSB departments to ensure appropriate customer relationship servicing.
  • Participate in community affairs and professional organizations to increase the bank’s visibility and enhance new business opportunities.
  • Stay informed about local and national economic, financial, political, and legislative events that may impact lending activities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • College degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of applicable commercial credit experience, with a focus on commercial real estate.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify customer needs and business opportunities.
  • Knowledge of regulations concerning commercial real estate lending.
  • Prior experience mentoring and/or managing junior staff preferred.

Pay

The reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $148,500 to $175,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
