Senior Counsel - Liability & Excess Coverage

About the role

Clyde & Co US LLP seeks a Senior Counsel attorney to join our growing insurance coverage litigation practice in Seattle.

Responsibilities

• Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice to clients.
• Conduct legal research, analyze findings, and draft memoranda.
• Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence regarding insurance coverage litigation.
• Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and communication with clients.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in Washington State.
• Experience in insurance coverage and coverage litigation or a commercial litigation background with an interest in insurance coverage work.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• The ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice in Washington State.
• Experience in insurance coverage and coverage litigation or a commercial litigation background with an interest in insurance coverage work.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $235,000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
