About the Role

Join Tyson & Mendes as a California-licensed Senior Counsel with strong Lemon Law defense experience to represent manufacturers and corporate clients in high-exposure Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and consumer litigation matters across California. Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling case themes to counter plaintiff strategies.
  • Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.
  • Collaborate with attorneys at all experience levels as part of a team.
  • Maintain routine communications with clients.
  • Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced attorneys.
  • Refuse to accept mediocrity; strive for excellence in all aspects of litigation.

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active license with the State Bar of California.
  • 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including deposition and trial preparation.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience handling Lemon Law defense matters.
  • 2+ years of CRLA, tenant advocacy, or housing litigation experience.
  • 2+ years of General Liability defense experience.
  • Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including discovery and trial.
  • Experience with insurance defense matters preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Skills

  • Litigation experience in Lemon Law, automotive warranty, or complex civil litigation.
  • Experience representing manufacturers, automotive clients, or product defendants (consumer advocacy or CRLA backgrounds also considered).
  • Strategic thinking and strong advocacy in high-stakes litigation.
  • Collaborative team player with leadership potential.

Pay

The base salary for this position ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus ranging from $10,000, aggregating with $7,500 for every additional tier.
