About the role

As a member of the BioPharma & Corporate Legal group, you’ll be part of a team of transaction lawyers, focused on delivering the most important projects for our Business Development teams. Your work will include supporting licensing and collaborations, as well as asset deals and M&A projects and other commercial matters for AstraZeneca.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice across AstraZeneca’s global organization, working closely with senior leaders.
  • Using your knowledge of licensing, IP, commercial and corporate law, you will provide drafting, negotiation, and business counsel support to lead the legal support for key transactions, driving projects to completion and helping to mitigate critical legal and business risks.
  • Handle complex legal matters, interpret and draft contracts, and take a global perspective.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaborative working with your counterparts across the Legal function.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree with admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 5+ years of experience with pharmaceutical related licensing and collaboration work, supporting Business Development teams
  • Knowledge of and experience working in the life sciences sector
  • Strong leadership capabilities

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in-house
  • Experience advising a global pharmaceutical business
  • Experience advising on M&A
  • Understanding of manufacturing and supply chains
  • Experience of working in a global legal environment

Pay

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $184,228.00 - 276,342.00 USD.

Schedule

In-person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace and challenge perceptions. That’s why we work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office. But that doesn’t mean we’re not flexible. We balance the expectation of being in the office while respecting individual flexibility.
