Senior Counsel

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory matters tied to mortgage and home equity lending products in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment. The attorney will partner closely with internal business teams and outside counsel to help manage consumer credit, privacy, and debt collection issues while supporting day-to-day operations. This position is well suited for a practical legal advisor who can balance risk management with business objectives and deliver clear, actionable guidance across the organization. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 annually Responsibilities Manage legal and regulatory issues related to mortgage and home equity lending products Advise on debt collection, privacy, and consumer credit compliance Support various business units with legal and regulatory needs Work collaboratively with outside counsel and internal legal teams Ensure adherence to applicable laws and company policies Perform additional tasks as assigned by management Qualifications JD degree from an accredited law school Experience advising mortgage lenders or fintechs on consumer credit issues Experience with mortgage and home equity lending products and related legal issues preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage a heavy workload in high-pressure environments Self-starter with strong business acumen and team spirit Sound judgment and the ability to provide clear recommendations Benefits Collaborative work culture Opportunities for professional growth Support for continued legal education Work-life balance initiatives Commitment to diversity and inclusion Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
