Senior Counsel
Position Overview
Under supervision of the General Counsel, the Senior Counsel executes the legal department’s representation of the business in a manner consistent with commercial objectives and compliant with applicable law. The Senior Counsel is involved with a variety of legal matters affecting the global business, with an emphasis on negotiating and drafting commercial contracts.
Essential Functions
- Support the General Counsel with the drafting, negotiation and administration of client and business partner contracts as directed.
- Assist with supervision and training of junior counsel. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that the interests of the company are appropriately represented in commercial agreements.
- Develop and implement compliance-focused processes and procedures.
- Conduct legal research.
Required Skills, Education and Experience
- J.D. degree and membership in New York State bar is required.
- 5+ years of legal experience as transactional legal counsel, ideally with a combination of law firm training and in-house experience in a technology company.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Team player and consensus builder who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with business leaders throughout the organization.
- Strong MS Office skills and research skills.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a hybrid, full time position with a minimum of 3 days in the office. Monday through Friday during normal core business hours.

Compensation
Good faith annual salary range for this position is $150,000 to $185,000 plus 15% bonus and is commensurate with experience.

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
