About the role
The role supports Head Legal Americas & RLT on global RLT transactions and contributes to the function's strategy. Responsibilities include acting as a contact person for US Technical Operations and RLT Global, developing standardized templates, coordinating with other lawyers, advising on compliance policies, and interacting with regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Head Legal Americas & RLT on global RLT transactions and contribute to the function’s strategy.
- Act as a contact person for US Technical Operations and RLT Global, supporting procurement activities.
- Develop and roll out standardized template agreements and training materials.
- Cover the coordination with other Operations lawyers for smooth project implementation and best practice rollouts.
- Advise on legal aspects of compliance policies, procedures, training, and risk assessments.
- Interact with supervising authorities such as the Federal Drug Agency, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
- Be agile and adaptable to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Desirable Requirements
- 8+ years post-law school work experience
- 3+ years in a regulated pharmaceutical industry environment
Essential Requirements
- General knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations in the US
- GMP (general principles) obtained through pharma work experience
- Contracts, General
- Labor Law: Basic Knowledge
- Procurement-related experience
- Experience with litigation/contract disputes
- Experience in BD&L related transactions and complex contracting
- Real estate-related work experience (buy/sell, maintenance, construction)
Benefits & Rewards
The salary for this position is expected to range between $194,600 and $361,400 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
