Senior Cost Analyst - EPC
About the role
As a Cost Engineer at Ampirical, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and success of our projects. Your responsibilities will include leading the development, tracking, and reporting of detailed project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts. You will also collaborate with schedulers and project managers to ensure alignment between schedules, resources, and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, tracking, and reporting of detailed project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Collaborate with schedulers and project managers to ensure alignment between schedules, resources, and budgets
- Review and analyze project cost performance to identify variances and provide actionable insights
- Maintain and monitor earned value metrics and prepare comprehensive cost reports for internal and client stakeholders
- Support procurement and contract cost control, including change order tracking and invoice reconciliation
- Ensure financial compliance with corporate policies and support audits or reviews as needed
- Aid in proposal cost modeling and baseline budget creation
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance cost tracking and project visibility
- Familiarity with P6 is a plus, but not a primary requirement
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Construction Management, or a related field with 5+ years of Cost controls on EPC projects experience. Technical skills such as expertise in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with reading project schedules in P6 are essential. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of the overall Project Management Organization function.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in utility industry is preferred

- Expertise in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools like P6
