About the role
As a Senior Cost Accountant at Modular Power Solutions (MPS), you will provide reviews and analysis of project costs and budgets with Division Managers to ensure reasonable presentation in company financials. You will determine risk factors, mentor junior team members, and support the development of cost accounting systems and policies.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and prepare company revenue forecasts for distribution to executive management.
- Support development of current systems and policies (Oracle PM tools, finance forms, etc.).
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of cost accounting systems related to collection and analysis of job costs and budgets.
- Prepare subsidiary accounting and financial documents for divisions, including CACs, backlog, invalid time reports, and budgets.
- Prepare various cost/statistical reports for corporate management as required.
- Prepare financial data for inclusion in bid proposals and similar packages.
- Perform internal audits.
- Assist Project Management in resolution of costing issues.
- Travel to regional offices to support operations, conduct month-end reviews, and train operations staff on finance procedures and systems.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles, cost controls, financial reporting, and profitability analysis.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Fusion Cloud, or other enterprise-level financial systems preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Schedule

- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
