Senior Copywriter
About the role
Snap Inc. is looking for a Senior Copywriter to support the Marketing team. This role will develop creative from concept to execution for a portfolio of key partners. You will produce concepts and copy that influence consumers’ behavior and benefit our partners through innovative ideas, creativity, and language. You will collaborate with senior creatives, designers, strategists, and marketers to create groundbreaking concepts and messaging, then refine them into world-class AR creative.
Responsibilities
- Inspire, guide, and motivate a team of designers to craft thoughtful and impactful creative through copy.
- Utilize storytelling and strategic thinking to present creative concepts to creative directors, strategists, and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with communications planners and producers to understand AR performance and apply insights to future work.
- Manage and mentor junior creatives to develop world-class AR concepts.
- Write scripts, pitches, award submissions, and marketing materials for Arcadia and other initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience as a Copywriter.
- Proven track record of copywriting and concepting, including experience in AR.
- Extensive experience writing scripts for video, film, radio, or animation, as well as casting and attending recordings.
- Experience across a broad range of copy formats, including ad campaigns, HTML/rich media emails, online campaigns, social media content, microsites, websites, and mobile.
Skills
- Ability to generate high-impact, culturally relevant creative.
- Strong conceptual ideas grounded in human insights and problem-solving.
- Exceptional grammar, spelling, and copy construction for diverse audiences and media.
- Experience writing scripts for film, animation, or moving image content, and collaborating with designers on storyboards.
- Excellent storytelling, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for big ideas.
- Comfortable providing design direction on projects.
- Ability to articulate simple and compelling ideas.
- Understanding of creative, design, and marketing processes.
- Adaptability in fast-paced, evolving, and sometimes ambiguous environments.
- High-impact, culturally relevant creative portfolio.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a creative or agency environment.
- Contributions to new business development and pitches.
Schedule
This role follows a “default together” policy, requiring in-office work 4+ days per week.
Pay
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions, and may be negotiable within the salary range.
- Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): $157,000–$235,000 annually.
- Zone B: $149,000–$223,000 annually.
- Zone C: $133,000–$200,000 annually.
This position is also eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
