Senior Coordinator, Financial Counseling

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through their healthcare financial obligations.
• Manage patients' authorizations for the medical care they receive.
• Research and re-submit denials from the billing department.
• Verify patients’ benefits information, including deductibles and co-insurance.
• Collect time of service payments or set up payment plans for patients.
• Assist with front desk duties such as checking patients in, answering phones, verifying demographics, and scheduling appointments.
• Pull medical records to ensure patients have necessary lab results, imaging, or other provider needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience, preferred.
• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Prior experience working within healthcare financial services, preferred.
• At least 1 year of prior medical office experience, preferred.
• Medical knowledge, preferred.
