Responsibilities
- Guide patients through their healthcare financial obligations.
- Manage patients' authorizations for the medical care they receive.
- Research and re-submit denials from the billing department.
- Verify patients’ benefits information, including deductibles and co-insurance.
- Collect time of service payments or set up payment plans for patients.
- Assist with front desk duties such as checking patients in, answering phones, verifying demographics, and scheduling appointments.
- Pull medical records to ensure patients have necessary lab results, imaging, or other provider needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience, preferred.
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
- Prior experience working within healthcare financial services, preferred.
- At least 1 year of prior medical office experience, preferred.
- Medical knowledge, preferred.
