About the role

We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to support the design, deployment, testing, and maintenance of control system projects. This role involves implementation, testing, and startup of technical solutions created by yourself or others. You must be an effective collaborator with customers and other associates to deliver the best solution and be willing to take direction from project management leaders. Frequent updates to management and customers on work status are required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a team member supporting project execution from design through implementation.
  • Develop or modify design documentation, including drawing packages, method of procedures, sequence of operations, and testing scripts.
  • Perform quality checks and bench testing of PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs.
  • Provide onsite and remote support for commissioning system design changes.
  • Work with installation companies to monitor progress, perform QA/QC on installations, test procedures, document observations, and communicate updates to the team.
  • Adapt to a flexible work schedule and travel, if necessary, to participate in the design, development, and startup of control systems at client facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in the control system industry.
  • Able to work independently on projects with a very organized and methodical approach.
  • Basic understanding of control system network topologies.
  • Instrumentation calibration and startup experience.
  • Experience commissioning in “live” environments.
  • Willingness to travel 30-50% (mostly local with remote support).
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC or DDC-controlled data center projects.
  • Experience with AVEVA Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE, OPC UA/DA, and A/B Rockwell or Schneider PLCs.
  • Experience with Building Management & HVAC Control Systems.
