Senior Control Systems Engineer - Bowling Green, KY

About the role

Control Systems Engineers design automation systems that control processes or machines in the desired manner. The role involves applying instrumentation, control valves, motors/VFDs, control system electrical design, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Distributed Control System (DCS) configuration to deliver efficient automation solutions that meet user needs with minimal essential design.

Engineers in this role demonstrate high integrity, a willingness to exceed client expectations, a desire for continual challenge and development, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• PLC and/or DCS configuration
• Organize project data into manageable spreadsheets and databases
• Human-Machine Interface (HMI) graphics development and SCADA configuration
• Historian configuration
• Perform I/O checkout on the installed control system and document the results
• Provide post-commissioning support to the client’s operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel
• Travel to the client’s site as required

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or a related scientific/technical field

Qualifications

• Co-op or intern experience in an industrial environment
• Familiarity and/or coursework with basic AC and DC electric circuits
• Familiarity and/or coursework with computer programming concepts
