About the role

The Senior Contracts & Compliance Manager will lead the company's contract administration, export compliance, and customer compliance functions. This position serves as the company's senior authority for contract administration, export control compliance, and customer-driven regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives while protecting the company's legal, contractual, and compliance interests.

Success in this role involves overseeing the full contract lifecycle for U.S. Government and commercial programs, providing strategic guidance to company leadership, leading negotiations of complex agreements, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and contractual obligations. Additionally, this role will serve as Jered's primary Export Control Representative and customer-facing point of contact for cybersecurity and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements, including CMMC, NIST 800-171, and DFARS cybersecurity requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the negotiation, administration, and management of a wide variety of government and commercial contracts while identifying contractual risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring contractual obligations are effectively communicated across the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and cross-functional teams, providing guidance that supports sound business decisions and successful program execution.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training programs that ensure compliance with government contracting regulations, customer requirements, and internal standards.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, support internal and external audits, and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen Jered's compliance framework.
  • Oversee export compliance activities in accordance with ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and other applicable regulations while supporting international business activities and partnering with legal counsel on licensing and regulatory matters.
  • Lead the company's contractual cybersecurity and CUI compliance efforts, working closely with Information Technology and other functional teams to support CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS cybersecurity requirements, customer audits, and ongoing compliance initiatives.
  • Support strategic business initiatives including proposal development, government registrations, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational growth.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Contract Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Political Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in Federal Government contracting, contract administration, compliance management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and administering complex government and commercial contracts.
  • Experience working with U.S. Government acquisition regulations and contract requirements.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in manufacturing, defense, aerospace, maritime, or industrial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR, EAR, and other applicable government contracting regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to assess risk, provide practical business guidance, and make sound decisions in complex situations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

Preferred

  • 10+ years of contract management experience focused on Federal Government contracting.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy, shipbuilding, maritime, aerospace, or defense manufacturing programs.
  • Experience serving as an Export Control Representative, Empowered Official, or similar export compliance role.
  • Experience supporting CMMC certification efforts, NIST 800-171 compliance, and CUI compliance programs.
  • Experience with international contracts, export licensing, and defense industry regulatory requirements.
  • NCMA certifications such as CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM.
  • Export compliance certifications or formal training related to ITAR and EAR.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, or corporate growth initiatives.
