About the role

ACPWB has built a reputation for producing the kind of research that gets cited in proxy statements, board presentations, and occasionally heated Slack channels at Fortune 500 companies. The Senior Consultant, Workforce Analytics will join our Public Affairs group and take responsibility for a defined set of pay-for-performance alignment analysis deliverables. You will be expected to own your workstream, bring your own perspective, and never describe Milwaukee negatively in a client-facing document.

ACPWB's Public Affairs practice is expanding its focus on pay-for-performance alignment analysis, and we are looking for a Senior Consultant, Workforce Analytics who can operate at the level of rigor our clients demand. This position will report to the practice lead and manage a small team of 15 analysts, with the expectation of growing that team within 18 months, budget permitting. The Senior Consultant, Workforce Analytics joins ACPWB at an interesting moment: demand for pay-for-performance alignment analysis advisory services has expanded, our client base has diversified across industries and geographies, and our Public Affairs team needs a senior contributor who can carry independent workstreams while making junior colleagues better. We are looking for someone who sees mentorship as a professional responsibility and not an imposition on their billable hours.

  • Develop ACPWB's point of view on emerging pay-for-performance alignment analysis issues for use in thought leadership
  • Develop and maintain internal training resources for the firm's pay-for-performance alignment analysis methodology
  • Oversee production and quality assurance of board education sessions on compensation governance work across concurrent client engagements
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, presentations, and thought leadership
  • Lead client workshops and working sessions on pay-for-performance alignment analysis strategy and implementation
  • Track and analyze proxy statements, regulatory filings, and public disclosures related to pay-for-performance alignment analysis

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, R, or SQL a plus
  • Experience in or advising clients in the telecommunications sector on compensation and workforce matters
  • Experience with incentive plan design including performance metric selection and payout modeling
  • Familiarity with SHRM Compensation Data Center or comparable compensation management and market pricing software
  • Experience building or maintaining compensation benchmarking databases

Preferred

  • Experience with LTIP design including performance share units and stock appreciation rights
  • Background in employment law or regulatory compliance related to compensation
  • Background in financial analysis or investment research

Why ACPWB

Our culture is one of intellectual honesty, high standards, and what we describe internally as 'aggressive collaboration' — a phrase that means we challenge each other's thinking constructively and support each other's success unconditionally. We have won awards for this. The awards are real. The culture is also real.

ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.

What Success Looks Like In Year One

  • Successfully guide a junior team member through a full engagement cycle as a peer coach
  • Deliver an internal presentation sharing key insights from your first major client engagement
  • Lead or co-lead at least two client engagements from kickoff through final delivery
  • Establish a regular cadence with your manager for feedback, development planning, and career discussion
