About the role
Your Role Alchemy is currently seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our Workday Platform team as a Workday Payroll Senior Consultant.
Responsibilities
- Lead clients through their Workday system implementation and the project development lifecycle.
- Perform the following as a member of a deployment team:
- Gather and understand customer payroll business requirements.
- Design and configure the Workday Payroll solution.
- Demonstrate configurations through the development of prototype systems.
- Lead and manage parallel testing sessions.
- Complete knowledge transfer to customers.
- Identify and analyze business needs and requirements, translating technical requirements into business-appropriate terminology.
- Create and develop functional designs and specifications, analyzing gaps, and providing solutions.
- Aid the integration consulting team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions.
- Consult with clients on data integrity issues and leading business practices using Workday.
- Ensure customers understand and utilize Alchemy and Workday best practices.
- Strive to innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively.
- Help ensure customers remain referenceable once in production.
- Partner with project managers to ensure alignment across project plans and allocated budgets.
- Mentor new consultants and serve as a professional role model.
- Maintain Workday certifications and qualifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or commensurate work experience.
- Experience as a Workday Payroll functional lead.
- 4+ years of payroll processing or payroll implementation experience with Workday, Ellucian, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar applications.
- Ability to use rigorous logic to understand hidden problems and identify effective solutions.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with both technical and functional end-users.
- An active Workday Payroll certification.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 40%.
Qualifications
- Previous consulting experience within Higher Education (college/university).
- Experience in time tracking, absence, scheduling, compensation, benefits, or HCM.

Pay
Base Salary Ranges: Senior Consultant: $100,000 - $150,000
Note: Compensation for roles at Alchemy varies based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, certifications, and overall business needs. As part of our total compensation package, this role may also be eligible for participation in Alchemy’s variable bonus plan (role-specific), with additional details shared during the hiring process.
