Senior Consultant (Building Consulting)
About the role
We are seeking a professional with a minimum of 2+ years of estimating experience and work experience in the restoration, insurance, and remediation field, with responsibilities for estimating property damage losses. Large loss Insurance Adjusters with strong experience in the construction industry, as well as estimators with experience in reconstruction projects, roofing, or equivalent fields, are encouraged to apply. Candidates with appraisal, mitigation, cost analysis, and disaster recovery experience are also welcome.
Individuals with hands-on experience in assessing and minimizing damage during emergencies or disasters, including knowledge of disaster response protocols, risk assessment, and preventive measures, will be highly valued. A background in restoring damaged properties due to fire, water, or other incidents, along with the ability to oversee and manage on-site operations, is crucial. Field supervisors ensure restoration and mitigation efforts are executed efficiently, adhering to safety guidelines and quality standards.
The most successful experts in our organization have a strong desire to understand and learn the methodology for negotiating and settling files in a timely manner. They apply strong analytical and writing skills to produce expert reports supporting our clients in making important high-value decisions.
Responsibilities
- Estimate property damage losses in the restoration, insurance, and remediation field.
- Assess and minimize damage during emergencies or disasters, applying knowledge of disaster response protocols and risk assessment.
- Oversee and manage on-site restoration and mitigation operations, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and quality standards.
- Produce high-quality expert reports using strong analytical and writing skills to support client decision-making.
- Negotiate and settle files in a timely manner.
- Conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Write reports of findings after inspections (50% of day-to-day responsibilities).
- Travel 30% of the time—locally, out-of-state, and for CAT response when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college or university; or 5 years of demonstrable experience and accomplishments in the restoration industry in lieu of a degree.
- Relevant experience in the restoration and/or restoration contracting field, specializing in working with insurance companies, with responsibilities related to scheduling, project management, and estimating.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Xactimate, Symbility, RS Means, or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Willingness to be exposed to UV radiation from the sun, radon, or other forms of air pollution.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $80,000 - $85,000. Any offered salary range is based on factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, and management responsibility.
