Overview
The Job in a Nutshell: Oversee the day-to-day implementation and project management of new store construction, store relocations, store renovations, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepares project scope of work and process submittals
- Prepares cost projections and budgets for construction projects
- Maintains good working relationships with contractors, vendors, architects, and engineers
- Generates, reviews, approves, and monitors construction schedules and expenses
- Oversees construction to assure detailed conformance with the contract documents and highest quality workmanship, code compliance, ADA compliance, schedules, sequence, costs
- Prepares purchase orders for contractors, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, consultants, etc.
- Performs and is responsible for record keeping activities, such as, financial tracking, Site Inspection Reports, review submittals, construction field reports, manages pay applications, processes change orders, and close out documents
- Identifies potential issues, cost savings changes and completes punch list
- Manages support staff & trains others as needed
- Conducts site inspections and field measurements
- Provides weekly update to V.P. of Construction
Qualifications
- BA in Architecture, Construction Management or Civil Engineering a plus
- 5 years of experience in Commercial Construction Management required
- Minimum of 5 years of field experience required
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Retail construction management/experience a plus
- Knowledge of Commercial Construction
- Knowledge of IBC and ADA requirements
- Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills and exceptional leadership qualities
