About the role
The Senior Construction Project Manager oversees individual and multi-disciplined projects, managing planning, design, budgeting, contractor selection, execution, change management, and closeouts. This role requires strong construction experience, particularly in ground-up and large-scale developments.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and develop project needs assessment and project plans.
- Manage design and construction team.
- Develop and present project plans for approval.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders for project execution.
- Provide project management documentation and reporting.
- Implement project according to schedule.
- Maintain schedule and budget updates.
- Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, consultants, clients, property owners, and property management team.
- Partners with development, investment, brokerage, and leasing teams for project success.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Project Coordinators, Associate Project Managers, and Project Managers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, or military equivalent, preferably in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Real Estate, Finance, or Business Management, with at least 7 years of related experience.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Power Point and Project, and Kahua Software preferred.
- Practical understanding of local building codes, permitting, and inspection process; coordinate with local jurisdictions and entitlement teams.
- Working understanding of development, financing, and pro forma generation.
- Strong, clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting while taking direction from multiple project leaders.
- Ability to work after hours, weekends, holidays, and during emergency situations as necessary to meet the needs of the client.
- Ability to read and write English to understand manuals and procedures, and to write reports.
