What this job involves
This role serves as the primary project management delivery lead for a major corporate real estate account, overseeing capital planning, program development, and multi-project execution. You'll be responsible for managing complex construction and development projects from concept through completion, leading cross-functional teams, and maintaining strategic client relationships.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Leading overall project management delivery and supporting capital plan development with program scope definition and resource allocation
- Developing comprehensive project budgets encompassing hard costs, soft costs, and construction cost/benefit analysis while driving cost savings initiatives through negotiation and value engineering
- Mining, creating, tracking, and monitoring meaningful data metrics, KPIs, and analysis to inform decision-making and demonstrate project performance
- Assembling and managing cross-functional teams of consultants and contractors while evaluating performance and providing intelligent bid leveling
- Maintaining strategic client relationships, conducting periodic account calls, and managing conflict resolution to ensure satisfaction and project success
- Ensuring accurate accounts receivable management to maintain working capital within corporate finance parameters
- Providing on-site supervision to ensure project performance criteria are met and identifying areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and risk
- Training and developing JLL team members in firm and client procedures, methodology, and best practices expected for successful project implementation
Desired experience and technical skills
- 7-10 years of practical experience in project administration and corporate real estate project management
- Proven experience leading and running numerous projects simultaneously, including ground-up developments, major re-development projects, and corporate interiors
- Strong working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, scheduling, and processes as they relate to corporate real estate
- Experience working with landlords, developers, and institutional owners throughout the project lifecycle
- Knowledge and ability to read and understand design development and construction documents
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional presence and strong computer literacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Project software, with demonstrated competency in PDS technology applications
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with business development interest and capability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management strongly preferred
- Ability to develop and cultivate business relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Ability to lead individuals across a national platform to deliver superior client service results
- Flexibility with work hours and travel (US and/or Canada) as needed
- Ability to work in a hybrid model with three days in the downtown Los Angeles location (subject to change)
- Compliance with all JLL policies and procedures, including ethics, business practices, and HR policies
- Plus: Secured environment experience or aerospace/defense contractor experience is a significant advantage
- PREFERRED: Experience with space programming and development of schematic drawings
- Understanding of risk and compliance concepts related to construction, including JLL playbook management and client risk mitigation
- Active presence in industry organizations and attendance at industry events
- Track record of establishing and refining best practices and standards of excellence
- Experience in account team oversight including recruiting and managing talent
